I had the pleasure of working with Patricia while I was the acting CEO of Starbase, a publicly held corporation listed on NASDAQ. Patricia was our in house legal counsel. During that time Starbase was in a turbulent turn-around state, cash strapped and dealing with many legal challenges.
Patricia was a key player in helping me guide the company through a lot of white water. Patricia had many duties and is a master at multitasking. Starbase was a supplier of Enterprise Software often sold as site licenses to Fortune 500 companies for hundreds of thousands of dollars. After the sales team closed the financial terms of the deal, our client would always want to negotiate the terms of the software license. Most of the time this would be at the end of the quarter meaning it wouldn’t be uncommon for Patricia to have 6 or more “deals” on her desk and trying to “close” and get signed before the end of the quarter, all while not giving up pro Starbase legal language in the contract.
I’ve been involved in selling enterprise software since the late 80s and have seen my share of large contracts blow up when the attorney’s get their hands on them. In all of my years before and after Starbase, I can honestly say Patricia is the best contract attorney I have ever worked with. I’m happy to recommend her and happy to discuss any of the other duties Patricia handled while at Starbase as well. In my opinion, you will not find a more competent and ethical business attorney.
